Packing

Just a quick photo today of the daunting task to try to make everything fit. We are limited to 1 checked bag for Greg & I, weighing up to 44lbs. This has to include all of Chloe's things too. Once she is traveling with us, then we can check a bag for her, until then, all the baby supplies need to fit in our suitcases. Thankfully we get to have a rolling carry-on and backpack. We'll keep you posted how it's going. 7 days to Gotcha!

Greg and Elaine,
I have been praying so much about our part of protecting and strengthening Lydia, Hannah and Abby while you are in China!

But this morning I am thinking of you and Chloe. As I read through the blog, when I came to the "gotcha day" I could feel the pure joy of holding Chloe in your arms on that day.

As I am sitting here weeping before the Lord, I feel his pure joy too.

God is so delighted to give you this daughter. His blessing and anointing will be on you and Chloe and Danny in China--and on the girls as they are with Becky and us.

Today he says, "Yes, ask anything in my name and I will do it!" John 14:14

What a wonderful place to be, in the hands of God. We love you...Mom & Dad

How exciting! I admire your organization! All of our stuff was piled on the bed in our guestroom.

Remember, they do have baby supplies in China so don't go overly crazy with bringing lots.

If you've joined the yahoo group for your orphange, they should be able to tell you what was available in the area.

In Beijing we had a baby store right next door and in Chongqing there was a Carrefour (similar to Wal-mart) just up the road.

Happy packing and have a great trip. It'll change your lives forever!!

We stayed at the Hongyadong which is in the business district. It's an interesting place to explore and has several restaurants.

Make sure you try hot pot. Don't be too adventurous though! Their mild to medium spicy is over the top to what we consider spicy.

Have a great trip! They have almost all the same snacks in China that you packed, snickers, crackers, etc. I don't remember seeing Little Debbies, but similar brands are there. Hot pot, where do I start! We ate hot pot for our Thanksgiving dinner and we were very thankful....for turkey and mashed potatoes! We told our guide we only did beef and chicken, I guess we didn't specify no beef intestines, tongue, kidneys etc! It was interesting and you should experience it! Have a great time! In Guangzhou, go to the little store outside of the White Swan called "A Home of Love" I think and ask for CoCo, tell her Tina sent you and she will give you a good deal! She and my boys have kept in touch for 2 years!
God Bless you on the final and most exciting leg of your journey!
