Today we spent the morning walking around the streets of Chongqing. Our CCAI rep, Marie, showed us around to many different restaurants, places to shop, get pictures developed, buy Starbucks coffee, and to use underground passes so you don't get hit any cars. Chinese do not yield to pedestrians. Cross the street at your own risk.
Chongqing is a very big city, but unlike Beijing it is inner China. People may come here on business, but they seldom visit the grocery store, etc. Being an American here is quite a novelty for them, let alone an American holding a Chinese baby. We all wear name tags that have an explanation of our adoption written in Chinese, so we can show it to people to explain. The Chinese are not shy about staring and trying to talk to us. Our 15 families made quite a spectical on the streets of Chongqing today. We literally could not stand still in 1 place too long or we were surrounded by a crowd of people. Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what the town looks like and what it was like to walk around today.

Everywhere we look in Chongqing there are 30 story high rise buildings. Similar to what you may see in a downtown like Chicago, except it is everywhere you look.
Here is a glimpse of being the center of attention. We stood still for less than 5 minutes and were absolutely surrounded by people.
Greg and Chloe cut our walking tour short for a bottle and a little nap.
