Time is Getting Closer

We're getting closer to our referral and seeing Chloe's face for the first time. They are predicting we could receive a picture as early as Feb. 26th and more likely by Mar. 3rd. That would mean that her picture could be in the mail from China as early as next Monday! That calendar just has to move a little faster, please.

Snowy China

Many of you may have heard about the state of emergency going on in China right now. The country has seen the worst snow storm in the last 100 years. Many cities are without electricity or running water. We've been hearing about orphanages without heat and running out of food and diapers. It breaks my heart to think of these babies, cold, hungry, and in the dark. We don't know at this point what part of China our baby girl will be from or if she is affected. Please pray for her safety and well-being as the country recovers. China has matched to Dec. 27, 2005

We're counting down 'til Dec. 30, 2005

Oh my goodness - We could actually see our baby's face next month! Can this actully be happening? We're so excited. It's time to buy luggage, get the baby clothes out, figure out who's taking care of the dog, etc. Elaine's dad is planning to travel with us, so that will be a blessing to have an extra set of hands along and someone to share the experience with. I think this month will pass very slowly. We'll post again when we hear more.

Looking Good for Next Month

We've been following the rumors this week for matches and it looks like China has matched to the 27th of Dec. '05 this month. That puts them only 3 days away from our log-in-date. Could it possibly be we'll see our sweet baby's face next month? We hope so! We'll let you know when we hear more.

We're counting down 'til Dec. 30, '05

Obviously the hoped for January referral did not happen. There's still some time to go before China gets to our paperwork registration date. We're being told to expect a match in March and home by mid-April before China's national holidays begin. We're keeping our fingers crossed and we'll post again as soon we hear something new.

We're counting down 'til Dec. 30, '05

In speaking with our agency (CCAI) this week, we were told to expect matches for our LID to come through in January. Even though last month was only 8 days, they still expect January to be our month. That makes us really excited! With the holidays in full swing, time will go so fast. We just need to make sure we're ready. After waiting so long and putting things off for fear of being disappointed, it's time to make the rest of our travel purchases, finish off our vaccinations, lock up plans to cover our jobs while we're gone, and finalize arrangements with those taking care of our girls. December matches are just around the corner. We'll be sure to post something soon after we hear the latest news.

China has matched to Nov. 30, '05

We're counting down 'til Dec. 30, '05

We started shopping this month! It's a good way to pass the time and we don't want things to be too crazy between our match day and travel a few weeks later. It's a lot of fun looking at bottles and pacifiers and rattles again. We can't wait to get her in our arms. CCAI was hopeful that we'd be matched by the end of the year, but that is seeming unlikely at this point. We'll let you know when we hear anything else. Please keep prayer for Chloe. God bless.
